Launch of the First Scientific Conference on Olive Oil under the Slogan
“Our Olive Oil, Our Wealth”
The activities of the First Scientific Conference on Olive Oil, entitled “Olive Oil: Nutritional Value and Future Prospects” and held under the slogan “Our Olive Oil, Our Wealth,” commenced on Sunday morning, December 12, 2021. The conference continued through Monday, December 13, 2021.
The conference witnessed broad participation from a large number of researchers and academics representing various Libyan universities, particularly from cities where olive cultivation is widespread.
The conference opened with verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the Libyan national anthem. This was followed by an address from the Conference President, Dr. Mohamed Gouma, then remarks by the Chairman of the Preparatory Committee, Dr. Emhamed Al-Habashi, and the Chairman of the Scientific Committee, Dr. Omar Saeed.
The opening proceedings also featured introductory presentations highlighting the University of Gharyan and Dar Al-Ghidaa Company, the official sponsor of the conference.
The conference’s first and second sessions then commenced, with the remaining research papers scheduled to be presented the following day, God willing.
