Recommendations of the First Scientific Conference on Olive Oil

1. Promote and expand olive cultivation by planting and developing olive trees and increasing their numbers.
2. Increase the productivity of olive trees through the adoption of modern irrigation systems and the provision of appropriate fertilizers.
3. Activate and strengthen agricultural extension programs, including field-based and media outreach, to enhance the skills and efficiency of farmers and producers.
4. Develop the Libyan standards and specifications for olive oil through scientific, research-based, and analytical studies covering all olive-producing regions across Libya.
5. Support and develop the olive oil bottling and packaging industry in Libya.
6. Document and make available data on olive oil production, consumption, exports, and imports to researchers and other interested stakeholders.
7. Promote research into the recycling and utilization of olive mill waste, support the practical implementation of such applications, and establish specialized processing plants to maximize the value of these by-products.
