Scientific Workshop Entitled: “Food Contaminants and Contemporary Issues”

On Thursday, May 30, 2024, University of Gharyan organized a scientific workshop entitled “Food Contaminants and Contemporary Issues” under the theme “Food Contaminants and the Health of Libyan Society”, at the auditorium of the Faculty of Science – Gharyan, in cooperation with the Libyan Society for Mycotoxins and Food Contaminants.

The workshop aimed to provide scientific and research expertise to various Libyan state institutions and organizations in both the public and private sectors, contributing to the development of scientific and research capacities and enhancing consumer awareness of the risks associated with mycotoxins and food contaminants and their potential impact on human health.

The workshop also addressed a number of contemporary issues related to food safety and highlighted the importance of coordinated scientific and institutional efforts to reduce the risks posed by food contaminants, thereby contributing to efforts to achieve food security and protect the health of Libyan society.

The event reflects the University of Gharyan’s commitment to supporting scientific research, strengthening the university’s role in serving the community, and fostering cooperation with institutions and organizations concerned with food safety and public health.
